Which Mav is this Year's Whip? |
Lead | |
|
Every year someone emerges as the player to vent all two game losing streak venom upon. Steve Nash, Shawn Bradley, Mike Finley, Jerry Stackhouse, Devean
George...there has been a long history of this board turning on a player.
Edit: I somehow left Antoine Walker of the list of whips. It is now corrected. Who will it be this year? (Result)
Three things:
1. Erick Dampier was a contract year 'ho. Maybe it was worth it. 2. "We are ready to go to war." Can someone please tell Donnie we're tired of these asinine proclamations? 3. This team goes as far as Dirk takes them.

Dirk. Some will call for his head after he missed a FT in the playoffs while they forget that he makes the game winning shot in game 7 of the finals.......

I voted TT. still haven't forgiven him for dissin Dirk. And even though Dirk says it's water under the bridge, I think he's still hurting on the
inside. However if TT hits a game winning 3, I can probably let it go.
Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey?
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Gooden, the torch has been lit, the whip is out and we know what that means.

Is Matt Voskuhl the lovechild of Matt Carroll and Jake Voskuhl?
Anyway, we all know the answer: Matt Carroll. He's the anti-christ. He's a communist. He's dissing Dirks shot. His contract is terrible. If the Mavs fail to win the title this year it will be his fault. Anyone wanting to buy Matt Carroll Vodoo dolls? '

Probably Gooden, unless Josh feels another sudden urge to talk about his recreational habits. Kidd might have an outside chance if Devin continues to improve.

I think it's Josh Howard, cause if he doesn't play at an All-Star level, trade proposals will show up here. Marion and Gooden are too new here.

Sorry Jay, that isn't going to happen my friend.......I would rather lose all my games and not make the playoffs rather than win all of them and then get
bounced out of the first round like you seem to do every year.....

It'll be Dampier. Gooden's immune. People will blame Damp for the very fact that Gooden has to see the floor. Which they should. I do.

Gooden and Dampier are winning so far. There's always the chance that Kidd is another half step slower this year.

I'm going with Tim Thomas for his past transgressions and underachieving his whole career. If he gets traded or doesn't come back from knee surgury,
I'm changing to Barea. Just put him in the Mavs Man suit and be done with it.

For me, it was definitely shaping up as Damp, formerly the worst starting center in the NBA. But now that he's just a back bench warmer, I no longer have
the zeal. Damp may hardly see the floor this season.
Donnie/Cubes/Coach C should take some heat for constructing such an unbalanced roster with forwards playing forward, forwards playing center, and forwards playing guard. In the end, I have a feeling it will be Josh who ends up as the "Whip" since he doesn't seem to have the skill set to coexist with both Kidd and Marion and may struggle with the position change. With Kidd and Marion, the Mavs already have two glue guys in the starting lineup so they don't really need another glue guy like Josh in the starting lineup. What they need from the 2 guard spot is a light it up, shot making, shot creating force. Josh will try to provide that, but I've seen that act before, and it doesn't end well. |

Gooden probably most of all, but Howard will get some venom for not being a good ol' boy and Kidd will get some hate every time Devin Harris has a good
game.
