it was a weak showing. ill give him that the dude got a really solid crack tot he back of his head before he flipped him over and started pummling his face but
the punch that dropped him was a live tap.
Kimbo is the only one that came off like a decent person after it though in post fight interviews. EXC had better hope that Cyborg woman doesnt take out hottie Gina Carano or they are screwed. The announcers trying to cover the debacle was hysterical though.
There is no greater evil than the indifference of good men. |

Kimbo was a joke to begin with.
In his first fight there was speculation that he actually tapped out against that bag of nothing he fought. His post fight reaction was lame. He needs to go back to the streets. "You can't control what the ball do. It's craazy, man." |

I told you, man. The guy wasn't ready. He had hype off of fighting internet bums. He got pwned by the first true MMA fighter he faced, and that MMA fighter
wasn't even that good in the first place.
To be fair, I have nothing but respect for Kimbo. He's never talked trash and has always acted very respectful and humble towards his opponents. It's unfortunate for him that he was thrust into this spotlight because a company wanted to make a bunch of money off of him. Next manufactured fighter to get exposed is that chump WWE wrestler turned wannabe MMA fighter, Brock Lesnar. Well, I guess already got exposed when he got subbed by Frank Mir in a minute and a half, but he's getting a title shot in the most prestigious MMA org in the world after bieng only 1-1. It makes me sick. He needs to go back to WWE.

He's trying to be a well-rounded failure.
Not really a great WWE guy. Failed at training camp with the Vikings. "You can't control what the ball do. It's craazy, man." |

I don't know, man. Couture is 46 years old. Randy will lose more than Brock will win, then we'll have to deal with all these idiot WWE wrestling
redneck fans proclaiming that Brock is the best, when in reality, there are tons of guys who would beat him and one guy who would kill him (Fedor)
I'm almost ashamed to be an MMA fan right now. I've been an MMA fan since the PRIDE Middleweight GP in 2003 and just when I thought it was going to go mainstream and gain respect, these WWE fans had to come in and ruin it and make it look corny. I was hoping boxing fans would come on board, not WWE fans.

yeah, i've always loved the concept of MMA. i remember i used to rent all of the old UFC stuff with tank abbott, kimo, gracie, ruas, and all of those guys.
i realize guys like Tank were bums but thats all i had access to at the time. we'd be all hyped up over it, but i haven't followed it nearly as much as
i have boxing. i like them about the same, and i hope MMA continues to grow.

Well, back then, those were the gods. Back then there was no such thing as a mixed martial artist. It was just one guy in one discipline vs another guy in a
different discipline.
Now guys specifically train MMA and you gotta be well rounded at ALL disciplines of MMA to be competitive. I love boxing, too, not as much as MMA, but I love boxing. MMA to me is the purest form of competition. You can't fake it in MMA.

Yeah, I didn't like how he didn't touch gloves either.
And EliteXC asking Petrucelli not to take Kimbo down to the ground and lay on him to get a decision is the same thing UFC does when they give bonuses for KO of the night and fight of the night. It's nothing new. It's good that we have other orgs, so we shouldn't want EliteXC to fail. Sure, UFC is the gold standard, but UFC doesn't care about the best fighters, only the most marketable. If other orgs went under, UFC wouldn't pick up their best fighters. They would still be trying to push their reality star/manufactured fighters.

how did that subtle right cross take Kimbo down though? i still don't get that. i mean i know if you get hit with a clean shot to the chin, its nearly
impossible to stay on your feet because your equilibrium is thrown out of wack. but that shot didn't even seem crisp.

UFC's actions to this point (from the point I started watching anyway) certainly support that.
i definitely dont mind having network TV carrying fights for free viewing. i dont like that some folks saw Kimbo/EXC as some sort of standard-bearer, but i suppose its not that big of a deal, really. where is DREAM televised? TSIFFL |

El Gallo Negro wrote:i agree but kimbo was coming forward, both guys legs were rooted to the ground without much give on either end, and his button just got pushed, i guess. it certainly didnt look like a lot of big knockout punches we see. and i definitely think kimbo got hit in the back of the head when he was on the ground. ref kinda stepped in but looked afraid to actually stop and warn the guy or something. might not have changed the outcome, but who knows. if i was the ref and knew what was good for me, i'd have stepped in and given Petrucelli a warning. kimbo might (MIGHT) have recovered, even if it wasnt the punch to the back of the head that rattled him. oh well. i really, really dont care all that much. yeah, before this fight i would agree if someone was to say kimbo was unskilled, but i would've never thought he had a glass jaw.
