In Germany football (soccer as you call it i think) is the big thing and the champion in football isn't determined by a playoffs scenario but by playing the season. The team with the most points earned over a season wins (win=3pts, loss=0pts, draw=1pt). It dawns on me that, outside of the Spurs' all-star duo (trio if you count plainclothes Manu), there is only one player on that team I'd care to have on the Mavs' bench---and he's only been there a month. But I'd like to know what you all think.

It probably happened many times before I was paying attention, but Latrell Fontaine Sprewell is the first NBA player I noticed whose idiotic opinion of himself ran him right out of the league and ended his career. Josh Childress did pretty much the same thing last summer, but maybe his decision wasn't so dumb. Hard to say. And of course model citizen Allen Iverson ran himself out of Detroit earlier this month, announcing that his ass was too precious to come off the bench.

I'm sorry for being so awfully active on my first day here, but it turns out to be great fun, so I just gotta...

The way I see it, you will have to beat the Lakers at some point if you want to win the Western Conference title, so we might as well do it while they are without Bynum as he is still questionable for the first round.

The only teams I wouldn't want to play are the following:

Boston ... hopefully Cleveland can somehow manage to beat them.
